Biography:
Ali can currently be seen presenting the Scottish Premier League and ATP Tennis for Sky Sports and Manchester United TV.
In August 2009 she made history by becoming the first woman ever to anchor the Scottish Premier League.
Ali has also presented live football for Arsenal TV, as well as weekly live British Basketball coverage, and the weekday breakfast show on Setanta Sports News.
Before relocating to London, Ali presented Rangers TV for three years, presenting a live daily show covering all the games, home and away, throughout the season.
She also presented her own property show for STV, Safe as Houses. With her passion for property, (she began building a property portfolio a few years back), this show was quite literally built for her.
Ali's first job on the small screen was presenting SKOOSH, the weekly teenage magazine show on Scottish Television. This afforded her the opportunity to try her hand at many different activities. “No two days were the same”, she recalls. “One day I'd be interviewing the Spice Girls and the next I’d be getting taught how to fly a helicopter!”
As well as SKOOSH, Ali presented 7 Days, a live current affairs magazine show, and Trial By Night, a live studio debate show. She also guest presented on the holiday series Scottish Passport.
Ali's next challenge was to present Animates, an animal show for kids. ”Trying to do a piece to camera with a six foot python draped around my neck was certainly an experience I won't forget in a hurry,” she laughs with a shudder! Clearly that age old adage of never working with children and animals didn't faze the bold Ali!
Ali then went on to present Boro TV Extra, the nightly club channel for Middlesborough FC, and has also presented live SPL football coverage for Granada.
She's a very experienced journalist, having had own regular columns in a number of Scottish newspapers, including The Scottish Evening Times, The Daily Record and The Sunday Post and has written features for many other publications.
