David Domoney is unique a garden expert – his passion for gardening is such that he feeds his plants with vodka, bananas, eggs, beer, aspirin and even ‘Viagra’ to keep them really happy…. he does not believe you need to be an expert to have a great garden, just imagination and a few tricks of the trade.
His quirky tips and eccentric horticultural style has gained him a ‘Top Gear’ type profile - his approach is to attract people not normally interested in gardening by enticing them with gob-smacking design and awe-inspiring ideas. His Piranha infested underwater garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show - which shocked the nation and stopped Her Majesty in her tracks – won him a Gold Medal He also designed a biker’s gardens for the Hells Angels, which won him a silver gilt medal and Jeremy Clarkston’s vote.
Pamela Anderson described David as her favourite gardener, saying “I do not like gardening but with his passion and eccentricity, you can’t help but get excited!”.

David is no stranger to celebrity – he has trained Brian Ferry on Bonsai, Jerry Hall and Dawn French on pumpkins, advised Christian Slater on his water butt, Anthony Worrall Thompson on BBQs, Jo Wood on ‘acoustic’ plants, Carol Vorderman on roof gardens, Cliff Richard on his lawn, and Keifer Southerland on hardy plants. Amongst others he has landscaped gardens for Philip Schofield and England striker Michael Owen, for his ‘Hello’ magazine wedding shoot - making him truly a gardener to the stars.

David has a charismatic and engaging personality that instantly disables people’s pre-conceptions that TV garden experts are just about Latin names and over-complicated procedures. David’s eccentric ‘Lovejoy’ approach shows that gardening should be about getting stuck in making it accessible to all using simple techniques, tricks of the trade and approaching design with fresh eyes - taking elements of individual lifestyles or interior design to the outdoors - appealing to everyone from Ballet Dancers to Bikers.

He has taken his unique approach to gardening to audiences all over the world – lecturing this quintessentially English passion to audiences in Moscow, Berlin, Brussels, Vienna, Hong Kong and Las Vegas and to The British Consulate General in Canada. In the UK he writes for House Beautiful Magazine, UK Landscape Today and Garden News – and his garden expertise has appeared in Times, Daily Mail, Sunday Mirror and the Telegraph. As a sideline David is also a Master Scuba Diver (specialising in shark diving) and writes on underwater gardens of the world for Diver Magazine.

David Domoney MI Hort, developed his expertise studying at 5 colleges, he is an elected member of the Institute of Horticulture, honouree member of the British Association of Landscapers, won a garden ‘Oscar’ the GIMA, BBC GWL Most Creative Garden 2008, Chelsea Flower Show Best City Garden 2005, Gold Medal Chelsea Flower Show 2009 plus more than 20 more Royal Horticultural Medals for garden design, making him the most decorated garden designer in Britain today.
