Training:

Toyah Willcox is one of Britain's biggest household names with a multi-faceted career as an actress, singer, author and TV host.

Toyah is currently appearing as Gail in Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Showtime, Showcase, ITV2) and stars as the Devil Queen in the musical Vampires Rock. (on tour 2008-9) She has also completed writing and recording a brand new solo album, In The Court of The Crimson Queen. The lead single Latex Messiah (Viva La Rebel In You) will be Toyah’s 22nd single and first ever digital single release.

In a career spanning over 30 years Toyah has had 13 top 40 singles, recorded 20 albums, written 2 books, appeared in over 40 stage plays, made 10 feature films and presented hundreds of television programs. She continues to work at the top of the league in media, music, acting and writing.

Toyah's acting career began at the Old Rep Drama School in Birmingham, England. She was nominated as Best Newcomer after appearances in two Derek Jarman films: Jubilee and The Tempest (as Miranda). Toyah acted in the legendary Quadrophenia and has worked with Katharine Hepburn (The Corn is Green), Sir Laurence Olivier (The Ebony Tower) and David Hemmings (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde). She garnered rave reviews for her lead role in Emile Zola's Therese Racquin and starred in Midnight Breaks.

The year 2000 saw the launch of Toyah's official website, and publication of her long awaited autobiography "Living Out Loud". She played Dr. Johnson in The Sky Pictures film production "The Most Fertile Man in Ireland"; hosted the London "Sister Act - Women's International Festival" and acted in the BBC medical drama "Doctors".

Toyah maintained her busy schedule in following years combining acting, singing, writing and TV presenting.

In 2007 Toyah continued to perform concerts with her band, including a series of summer dates at prestigious outdoor venues across the UK. Toyah also began writing and recording a brand new studio album with Simon Darlow and signed a brand new worldwide publishing deal with Zomba Music.

The year also saw the launch of the official Toyah MySpace site which exclusively previewed the new album material. Toyah has also produced a series of videos to present the music which are being previewed on the recently launched Toyah Youtube Channel.

Whether singing with her band, appearing on stage, screen and television, inspiring other women in her speaking engagements or chasing a runaway camel (see show-reel), Toyah's energy is unabated.

Toyah was drawn to the lead role of Michelle in The Power of Three because the character's joie de vivre echoed her own.

"Be loud, be proud and be heard" is not an empty slogan for Toyah. It is how she lives her life to the full.
