JULIE BALLOO
|
| Representing Agent: Debi Allen |
|
Biography:
Even as a small child, Julie says she “used to think in the third person” and only started getting serious about writing after doing a two year play-writing course at the Actors Centre in London, taught by David Mowatt back in 1988. Originally, Juliee began her career as a stand up comic and worked in most pubs in London, both behind the microphone and the bar.
Thirtysomehow the black comedy which Julie co-wrote and acted in for a sell out season at Edinburgh Festival, transferred to London and was later filmed for Channel 4.
Julie says that the best thing about writing is “Losing yourself in your writing, not noticing the time flying by. If it’s a comedy, hearing an audience laughing at your lines and not having to wear tights and a suit.”
