Biography:
Ed Hall came blinking into the bright world of broadcasting at the tender age of 21. In the early years, Lad culture and soft pornography were the media darlings and like a reluctant Colossus, Ed straddled this dubious period helming such greats as Coming Soon on Men and Motors and The Basement on Bravo. When the lager dried up and the bras were finally replaced, Ed moved towards greatness on BBC2s seminal Sunday Show and C4s Big Breakfast. He hit the primetime mainstream fronting BBC2s cult hit Bare Necessities, whilst maintaining his entertainment credentials on ITVs The Haunted Fishtank. When Reality TV took off Ed was there, fronting Sky1 & C4s gloriously cruel Temptation Island (which nearly led to a career in the states hosting Married by America a show that became neither fondly, nor remembered) and when ITV2 came into being, Ed hosted Survivor: Raw and countless other similarly titled shows.
Back on terrestrial TV when Rebecca Loos masturbated that pig on The Farm, Ed Hall was there to tell the nation why it happened and why Vanilla Ice was going to shove his hand up a cows arse on the next programme. When FIVE dipped its toe into a live reality show based around Boxing, Ed duly weathered the storm whilst unable to hear the gallery for the entire broadcast due to the constant shouting of " F**KING KILL HIM, F**KING KILL HIM" from the crowd. After Boxing came Football, and for 9 hours of live TV on SKY1, Ed was the sole Anchor on Celebrity Soccer Six seamlessly linking from an interview with a Sven Goran Erickson impersonator, to a chat with Dean Gaffney. Ed has also played Gameshow host on C4s Crossfire and Bravos Crazy Drivers not to mention roving reporter on BBC2s Techno Games.
Ed has worn his smiling but sensible hat hosting countless series of E4s Wife Swap: The Aftermath, ITV1s We Can Work It Out, and over 200 episodes of BBC1s perennial To Buy Or Not To Buy. Dotted in-between, Ed fronted SKY1s live hour long Test the Nation style show called How Gay Are You? and hosted on the cult hit Flipside.
Ed Has voiced E4s Meet the Parents, Fives How Not To Decorate and Nice House, Shame About The Garden along with Bravos Sexarama and Sexarama 2!
Away from TV Ed has worked as a regular contributor on the Kate Silverton and Gaby Logan shows on 5Live, invented Mr Shaky Hands Man for Banzai, wrote for the award winning Kevin Bishop show and completed his first screen play about the love triangle between Graham Taylor, Elton John and Watford FC. Ed is also the creator of Hammer General Store, his own line of British inspired work wear.
Ed Hall is the longest serving, most diverse and capable presenter that you've never heard of.
