Biography:

Jane is one of Britain’s most admired personalities and singing sensation, performing to millions of people worldwide. She has released many major albums, her first placed her in the ‘1998 Guinness Book of Records’, has done numerous tours and appears on many TV programmes in the UK and internationally. She is also an accomplished television and radio presenter and actress. She co-presented ITV1’s hugely successful ‘Loose Women’ from 2004-2010 and after a break to concentrate on her music and a hugely successful national tour, is rejoining the panel in January 2012. She has guest presented BBC1’s ‘National Lottery Show’.

Jane was born in Wakefield and is very proud of her roots. Inspired and encouraged by her music teacher, Mrs Brearley, music began to play a major part in her life from an early age. After completing her education she worked at Wade’s Furniture Shop in Wakefield, followed by being a manager and resident DJ at Casanova’s Night Club. Encouraged by her parents, Jane’s singing career took off as she toured pubs and clubs in 1985 performing all over the country. After the death of her father in 1989, Jane joined a cruise ship as a production singer and in late 1995, she was asked to top the bill on the cruise ship “The Galaxy”- where BBC Television was making a documentary called ‘The Cruise’ for BBC1.

After ‘The Cruise’ was shown in 1998, Jane’s career rocketed with over 1 million album sales and sell out UK tours, starring in London’s West End and a flourishing singing career in the USA. Jane also hosted major TV series, ‘Star for A Night’ on BBC1 which helped launch the singer Joss Stone and also gave the nation the first view of 2008’s X-Factor winner, Alexandra Burke. She has been a regular contributer to ‘The Alan Titchmarsh Show’ on ITV1 and has narrated two series of Channel 4’s popular “Celebrity 5 Go To....’

Her other television appearances include ‘10 Mile Menu’, ‘Lets Do Lunch’ , ‘Celebrity Ready, Steady, Cook’, ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’, ‘Are You Smarter than a 10 Year Old?’ and ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’. Jane released released a hugely successful DVD which shows her ‘one night only’ performance at London Palladium in May 2010. Many of the Loose Women, her family, including her fiancé Eddie Rothe, and her fans turned out to support her.

Jane played the part of the Nurse in a run of ‘Romeo & Juliet – The Musical’ at The Picadilly theatre in London’s West End. She has also performed in productions in Kirkby, Lonsdale and Basingstoke.

In 2000, Jane published her autobiography, ‘Follow Your Dreams’. In it, she talks about her “rags-to-riches” life and the development of her music and television career. She also features in the Loose Women books, ‘Loose Women: Girls’ Night In’, ‘Loose Women: Here Comes the Girls’ and ‘The Little Book of Loose Women’.

Jane has established herself as a consummate all rounder. She is a skilled TV host, an amusing panelist on discussion shows, an inspiring speaker and of course a gifted and highly successful singer.
